In the city, life and style is amplified in the same space.
I’ve been fortunate to spend time entrenched in Toronto’s thriving design community for years, and as a result, I draw passion, style and influence from my peers and the truly great creative minds around me. Fashion is like a silent conversation. What you wear tells people who you are, who you aren’t, where you want to go, how you approach your day. My vibe is stronger when what I’m wearing is something that I have chosen with the same care and attention I would any of my creative ventures. I want King x Portland to be a silent conversation about the city that inspires it, and the inspired people in it.

Let's bring back an appreciation for handmade.
To me, anything that is well-crafted, carefully designed and thoughtful has my attention. The spark of genius is in the details. I get my aesthetic inspirations from architecture, interior design nuances, editorial and street style. I always flip to the section in GQ where everyday, non-model street style is photographed and dissected. This provokes me to dress with intention every day. I spend time pairing new combinations from the feet up. Nothing is random. Nothing is worn “just because”. I want King x Portland to encourage dressing well head to toe, and embracing your own personal style.

If you are what you eat, then maybe you are what you wear too.
Style doesn’t make the person, but it’s as much a part of who you are as who and what you’re influenced by, everyday. Indie bands, CBC Radio 1, Pantone swatch books, Family cottage weekends, E.E Cummings, John Maeda, Emma Watson and waking up to the sights and sounds of King West each morning. These are just a few of the things that inspire me daily and are reflected in my style decisions. My inspirations help me curate a style that will walk with me all day and affect my confidence, pace, and interactions with the city around me. Style designed with a personal touch that inspires and is inspired by a community—that’s what I want King x Portland to be for every guy on a personal style journey.
